Second Chance For Life, Inc. (SCFL) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. We are certified to own, manage, and rent residential, commercial, and multifamily properties in New Jersey and across the country. SCFL will partner with and be monitored by the Department of Community Affairs, the Health Department, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Homeless Association, and veterans’ organizations. Our office is located in Lakewood, New Jersey. Founded in 2007, SCFL was inspired by the vision of Edward Crum.

Mr. Crum’s vision was shaped by his personal experiences as the oldest of six siblings. Raised by a single parent, he witnessed the effects of alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and poverty. These experiences gave him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living with post-traumatic stress and related mental health concerns. Having faced many of these challenges himself, he recognized the importance of personalized care, compassion, and empathy. SCFL is committed to guiding and supporting individuals throughout their journey. Our family-centered approach fosters unity and connection, helping ensure that every person receives the attention and support they deserve—just as a member of our own family would.
